My Running Story: Mónica Lara

I am proud to be a runner! I was born and raised in Mexico City. I started running in 2008 at the age of 46, and have been running ever since. It started as a challenge and now it is part of my daily routine. I feel energized and empowered every time I run. It not only makes me feel better physically, but also emotionally.

¡Me revitaliza y alivia el estrés! Setting monthly challenges helps me realize that anything is possible. No matter how tired I feel, I tell myself “Ándale, ponte los tenis y sal a correr. Recuerda que ¡te sentirás mejor!”

Gracias Andiamo, tus carreras son únicas y tus mensajes motivadores. Running has its challenges and it’s never super easy, but that’s what life is all about. Keep moving forward! Un pie enfrente del otro.

Con orgullo mis medallas adornan mi arbolito navideño este 2020.

My Andiamo+ running medals 2020 Christmas Tree. A great way to display my accomplishments.

¡Sí se puede!

Congrats on your accomplishments, Moni! Thanks for being part of the Andiamo running community! ¡Gracias! You are truly an inspiration to all of us. Let’s #keepgoing #keeprunning #yocorroeveryday

Monica completed all the races from our race series last year and she is very close to complete the Andiamo 2020 Race Series! She has also been part of the monthly mile challenges.
